One city is testing all nursing home staff and residents. Here’s what they found.

Cambridge Day reports on city’s effort to test all nursing home staff and residents.

A first-of-its-kind universal testing project at Cambridge nursing homes and assisted living centers over the past weekend has uncovered an astonishing 212 cases of Covid-19 among workers and residents. The Cambridge Public Health Department, which previously knew of only 24 cases, announced the results Monday morning.

The department said it didn’t yet have an analysis showing how many of those who tested positive were residents and how many were employees and would provide that breakdown “in the near future.” The announcement did not say how many of the seven facilities where workers and residents were tested had positive cases.
