Apparently , Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Mass and Tufts Medical Center are back at the table trying to negotiate a deal. But, for three days, Tufts has been bashing the insurer on Twitter — 25 posts last we counted. BCBS doesn’t seem to have a Twitter precense, so it’s been a one-sided rant.
And while Tufts is casting itself as defender low cost care, it may not be that simple. From the Globe: “This is confusing and disruptive,’’ said Amy Whitcomb Slemmer, executive director of Health Care for All, a Boston advocacy group. “We have essentially a train wreck that has nothing to do with the quality of health care, but is all about escalating costs. In their failure to reach agreement, Tufts and Blue Cross are affecting people’s care.’’
