Globe obit: Thomas Quinn, early champion of outpatient #oralsurgery

More here on the Springfield native, who died on May 22 in New Hampshire:

Deciding to have oral surgery in a clinic instead of a hospital was a difficult choice that Dr. Thomas William Quinn advocated for as he traveled across the country in the late 1940s and  50s, urging oral surgeons to use intravenous general anesthesia in their clinics, instead of sending patients to hospitals for a longer and more expensive stay.
